The festival returned to cinemas — opening at the ODEON Luxe Leicester Square with Captain Volkonogov Escaped.
After a year online, Russian Film Week returned to the big screen on 28 November 2021, opening at the ODEON Luxe Leicester Square — "the home of premieres" — with the UK premiere of Captain Volkonogov Escaped.
The week's programme included Q&As for Petrov's Flu, The Nose or the Conspiracy of Mavericks, Sputnik and A Dog Named Palma, a two-day Casting Bridge industry forum, and a secret screening. The festival closed on 5 December with the Golden Unicorn Awards and a closing party.
