Russian Film Week 2017

November 2017 · London

The second edition grew into a city-wide festival — masterclasses, a VR programme, a short-film competition and premiere Q&As across London.

The second Russian Film Week expanded across London with partners including the British Museum, the BFI, the British Council, the Science Museum and Pushkin House. Director Andrey Zvyagintsev gave a masterclass and presented Loveless, his Cannes Jury Prize winner and eventual Oscar nominee, in a sold-out Q&A.

The 2017 programme added new strands: a VR season at Waterstones, a short-film competition, FemFest, and VIP screenings including Like a Butterfly with Alyona Babenko. The festival's opening press conference brought together Russian and British film industry figures, including director Fyodor Bondarchuk.
